Anheuser-Busch Sends Drinking Water To Hurricane Sandy Relief

Anheuser-Busch Drinking Water

In response to Hurricane Sandy, Anheuser-Busch is producing more than one million cans of emergency drinking water for distribution to the areas that were heavily impacted by the storm.

According to Peter Kraemer, Vice President of Supply for Anheuser-Busch,

Relief workers and people in the region are in need of safe, clean drinking water, and Anheuser-Busch is in a unique position to produce and ship large quantities of emergency drinking water. Our local distributors help identify those communities most in need, and work with relief organizations such as the American Red Cross to make sure the water gets where it’s needed.

The idea makes sense, given the amount of water AB must process each day, and the fact that they’ve already got a canning process in place to produce and distribute large amounts of liquid. It’s just interesting to see them distribute something that’s not associated with Super Bowls and sports bars.
