Flying Dog is an edgy brewer, and their ‘Wild Dog’ line of beers, which includes the Centennial Single Hop Imperial IPA, the Secret Stash Harvest Ale, and the Barrel-Aged Gonzo Imperial Porter, and the wildest of the wild.
However, for the introduction of their new brew, a Farmhouse IPA called the Wildeman, they may have outdone themselves:
According to Flying Dog:
His axe is stained with the blood of a thousand adversaries. We fall in behind him as he leads up into darkness. He turns his gaze on us. “Tentanda via est!” The way must be tried. Wildeman has arrived.
Legions of followers marched across Europe in his wake. But was most soon realized is that Wildeman is already inside of them, ready to be awakened. Will you fall in line or find the edge?
As for the beer itself,
Wildeman begins with notes of citrus and spice on the nose, followed by potent hop flavor. This extreme bitterness is balanced by light malt highlights and finishes dry, crisp, and with a slight hint of acidity.
Wildeman has a scheduled release date of January 30th, which means we only have a few more days to wait to see if the brew lives up to the hype, but at the very least, they’ve certainly grabbed everyone’s attention with an ad that’s hard to ignore!
