Rogue Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ale

Rogue Voodoo Donut Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ale

Rogue Ales’ first Voodoo Donuts collaboration, called Bacon Maple Ale, was met with… mixed reviews.

Their new collaboration however, called Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ale, sounds like it has some potential, as it aims to match Voodoo’s Memphis Mafia donut.

If you’d like to try to make your own, Rogue is using 2-Row, C-150, C-175, Carafoam Special II, and Chocolate Malts; Rogue Farms Revolution and Independent Hops; Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Banana extract; Pacman Yeast, and Free Range Coastal Water.

For those who just want to pick up a bottle and give it a try, this beer should be hitting store shelves soon, so keep an eye out for this donut inspired concoction.

Sagres Made A Chocolate Website For Preta Chocolate

Sagres Preta Chocolate

Sagres is a Portuguese brewery that makes a unique chocolate stout called the Preta Chocolate. Since they didn’t have the cash necessary for a TV campaign, and didn’t have a lot of printed materials to promote with, they challenged their digital agency to find a new way to generate buzz about the beer. So what did they create?

A website made of chocolate:

The site was so unique that blogs couldn’t help but write about it, and the resulting buzz on Twitter and Facebook helped to spread the word to potential customers far and wide. To take the idea even further, customers were even able to order a limited edition six-pack that included a piece of the actual chocolate used to make the site.

As a promotion tactic, a chocolate website is a very smart idea, and I’m sure they attracted many customers that would otherwise have never heard of, or tried their beer. Time will tell if the beer itself lives up to the hype, but for now, they’ve set the bar pretty high for what a brewery can do with a beer and a dream.
